Sweden’s first floating hotel will open its doors on 20 October beside the Salt & Sill restaurant on the island of Kladesholmen. The 46-bed hotel will be open year-round and offers an eco-friendly way to experience the scenic Bohuslan coast and enjoy the seafood of this Taste of West Sweden restaurant.

Passionate about the environment, the hotel’s owners Susanna and Patrik Hermansson are keen to enhance the marine environment and the underside of the hotel’s pontoons will become a home for shells and mussels, acting as a natural purification plant for life below water level. A new reef outside the hotel is also being created to benefit shellfish. The hotel is the perfect base for trying activities from seafood safaris to cookery classes. Through an introductory rate, until 28 February, rooms are priced from 990 SEK (approx. £85) for singles, from 1,490 SEK (approx £125) for doubles and 2,990 SEK (£255) for the suite.
